Think this is a really interesting point. Gillibrand, the de facto leader of Al Franken’s demise, is hardly reaping any rewards in the polls (struggling to break zero %!) There is the possibility that there’s a significant silent majority who actually don’t see the things Biden is accused of as being that bad, certainly not bad enough to outweigh his qualities you mention.
