Interesting points, and I think there's a large, but possibly not large enough, portion of people who do want a candidate who fits that type of bill. DeSantis has many weaknesses in my view, but one of his strengths is the relative weakness of this other Republican candidates. Tim Scott, Niki Haley, etc., I'm sure competent in their own right, but aren't capable of playing on the same pitch as Trump, nevermind DeSantis.
